Committee Representation

The organising committee of the Science Fair are a group of volunteers, made up primarily of teachers, sponsors and other enthusiasts. The committee is a group dedicated to the promotion of science and in rewarding our young people who show initiative and passion in this area.

Each participating school should provide a representative at the Science Fair meetings. This ensures you are informed of events and are supported by the team. Meetings are usually held online, based on the availability of our team.

We begin in March with setting up of venues, pamphlets, sponsors, publicising to schools and this website. We manage the registration and set up day. We organise the team of judges. We collate all the information from judging and organise the prize giving.

As a committee member, the expectations of involvement are:

  • Participating in meetings (approx. from February/March through to the end of August)
  • Volunteering some of the day on the Thursday before the Fair when displays are flooding in. As well as helping to pack up after the Fair.
  • If your school is participating, you may have to coordinate the drop off and pick up of projects from your school.
  • Specialist skills that you might bring, such as design, accounting, web development, administration are appreciated.
